Le Jardin d'Acclimation is a large park located at 45 avenue Mahatma Gandhi, among the doors of Neuilly and Sablon, in the neighborhood of the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Jardin d'Acclimation was born of the encounter between an urban project that involved the creation of the Bois de Boulogne in the remodeling of the city of Paris and scientific ambition of famous zoologist Isidore Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire. In the 1850s, it was looking for a spacious place to accommodate a wide variety of animals. In 1854 Saint-Hilaire created the Imperial Zoological Society acclimatization devoted himself to creating a garden for the introduction and acclimatization of exotic species. Soon, the garden became the favorite promenade of the French aristocracy. In 1866, it housed over one hundred and ten thousand animals. During the War of 1870, he closed his doors. In 1877, it became a place of anthropology in Paris by the exposure in humans, which were held. From 1952 it was converted into a pleasure garden and became a park for walking and recreation. Between 1971 and 1975, the garden housed a small farm, a theater and a museum. Lack of funding, scientific activities were suppressed with the museum a few years later.
