History and visit to Paris Notre-Dame-de-la-Miraculous Medal
The Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, also known as Chapel Street Bac is a historic building located in Paris. It is located at 140 Rue du Bac. According to statements, the Blessed Virgin Mary had appeared at the place or the chapel is being built. It was St. Catherine Labouré was the eyewitness of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin. Several versions of the story can be heard on the history of the Miraculous Medal, but it was the next version which is closest to the truth. Thus, during the night of July 19, 1830, Catherine Labouré, still in a deep sleep, woke up due to the appearance of a child. He had said, “My sister, everyone sleeps well, come to the chapel, the Blessed Virgin awaits you.” At first, Catherine did not understand what was happening and still believing she was dreaming, she paid no attention to the call of the Virgin Mary. Later, she realized that it was a divine call, she got up and got ready to go and take the child. Catherine described the child as a source of light that illuminated everything in its path. When they came together in the chapel, Catherine heard footsteps and sounds caused by the friction of silk clothing. Later, the Blessed Virgin appeared before her. The latter was sparkling and very beautiful. The discussion continued for more than two hours without interruption and Our Lady told her that God would soon make use of it by making it a mission to announce that complicated. Four months later, specifically November 27, 1830, during his evening prayer, Catherine receives once again the visit of the Holy Virgin. She also told that the place where the Virgin stood was curious because there was under his feet a globe and a snake. The Virgin was decorated with several rings that their chips brought light on this globe. Enrolment clearly displayed around the globe. These texts saying “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” When these words appeared, the Blessed Virgin said to turn “It is the image of the graces I shed on those who ask me.” There were also rings around the globe is not lit, the Blessed Virgin explained: “It is the image of the graces that we forget to ask me.” It was these inscriptions that were on one side of the coin. As for the other side, there were different images representing the hearts of Jesus and Mary, twelve stars and the letter M which meant “Mary.” During the last apparition, the Virgin Mary Catherine wanted to remember these images so she can put them on a medallion. The Lady informed him that those who would wear these medallions will be on the neck of grace throughout their lives. Approval by the Archbishop of Paris at this time, medals were subsequently published in multiple copies and attracted many supporters. It is from this story that Pope Pius IX announced December 8, 1854 doctrine “Immaculate Conception”
