History of the town of Agenville in Picardy
Agenville is one of the communes of France located in the department of the Somme and Picardy. She wore different names since its inception. In 1143, she was known to Aisenvilla, Asenvilla Aissenville in 1200 and in 1246. In 1301, its name was changed Aisenville in Assenville Genville in 1372 and in 1730. During the war of Crécy in 1346, the Agenville was sacked by the English. Its territory was divided by two strongholds such as the stronghold of the Fayette and Hamel Bellenglise.
