History of the town of Aquinas-Westbécourt
The common-Westbécourt Aquinas is located in the department of Pas-de-Calais and Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. In the tenth century, the city was named after the thirteenth century Acquinius then becomes Aquinum. In 1974, the city merged with Westbécourt. It was only after the merger, the name of the settlement became Aquinas-Westbécourt. Aquinas was an area of the Abbey of Saint-Bertin identified in the polyptych of the Abbey of Saint-Bertin written by Father Adalard between 844 and 859.
