History of the town of Aclou
Aclou is a municipality located in the region of Upper Normandy, department of Eure. It is included in the district of Bernay and Canton of Brionne. The origin of the village dates back to Aclou of Celtic Gaul. Archaeological excavations have discovered the presence of little dolmen in Côte Canadians. The eleventh century, the village was known under the name of Arclou. The name is of Celtic origin. It was not until the fourteenth century that the town adopts the name of Aclou.
