Rue Cambaceres is located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Before its establishment in 1865, the street was part of Rue de la Ville-l’Évêque. The street is bounded by Rue des Saussaies and Rue de la Boëtie. Notable residents of Rue Cambaceres include Goüin and Ernest Alphonse de Lamartine.
Few historical buildings remain on the street, with the exceptions being numbers 1 and 15. Notably, the famous French composer Alexis Emmanuel Chabrier resided in these buildings after moving from Auvergne. Additionally, a house at No. 12 once welcomed Raphael Duflos, a member of the Comédie-Française. The street was named after Jean-Jacques-Régis de Cambaceres.
