Street Girardon is a road located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. It belongs to the district Grandes-Carrieres, with a length of 200 m and 11 m wide. It starts at the Rue Lepic and ends at the St. Vincent Street and Place Constantin-Pecqueur. In the seventeenth century, Albert Jouvin Rochefort indicated on the plan when the street was still a trail. A portion of the street was named rue de la Croix-du-But in 1825. This was limited by the Rue Lepic and rue de l’Abreuvoir. Girardon street was known as Rue des Brouillards in 1846. Until 1860 it was part of the former municipality of Montmartre. Three years later, she joined the Paris roads. The strret was name rue Girardon name in 1867, in honor of the French sculptor François Girardon who was one of the masters of decorative and monumental statuary. An extension was carried out on the street in 1900, from St. Vincent Street instead Constantine Pecqueur. At the corner of the rue Lepic, one can discover between the No. 1 and No. 3 the Moulin de la Galette, which offers a nice view. In the late nineteenth century, one could see from the Moulin extensive grounds which spread to the rue Caulaincourt. IT was called the Maquis. Small plank houses covered it in the field. Gradually, the Maquis disappeared and became a field that allowed to cross the avenue Junot. At No. 4, one can see the building where stood the writer Louis-Ferdinand Céline. He lived there from 1941 to 1944 on the 5th floor before leaving France with Marshal Petain.
