History and visit the Carnavalet Mansion in Paris
The Carnavalet Mansion l is located in the Maris district in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. Its construction was done in 1544 by the architect Pierre Lescot. Its architecture follows the style of the renaissance. Modifications were made between 1655 and 1661 by the architect François Mansart. It was inaugurated in December 1880. It was the residence of the Marquise de Sévigné. The city of Paris is the owner of this sumptuous place since 1866. It becomes a typical museum of Paris which preserves the objects which mark the history of Paris from ancient times until today.
This museum exhibits original works which relate to the city of Paris. The museum keeps :

The initiative for this museum was made during the Second Empire during the collapse of the historic heart. Through the exhibits in the museum, visitors can travel back in time. Representations illustrate the revolutions that Paris has known since the French Revolution to the commune of Paris, but also the life of Parisians.
Besides the museum, the building also houses two hotels, including the Carnavalet hotel and the Le Peletier hotel which are linked by corridor. The facades of the building are adorned with sculptures made by the famous sculptor Jean Goujon. The main entrance to the museum is shaped by very imposing bosses. The facade which opens onto the interior courtyard is decorated with wall sculptures representing the four seasons. The interior courtyard of this building is characterized by a magnificent garden.
