History of the town of Louhans in Burgundy
Louhans is one of the communes of France which is located in the department of Saône-et-Loire and Burgundy. In the thirteenth century, it became a center of commercial redistribution between Champagne and the Jura. By law Marcellin Louhans was unified with its surrounding municipalities such Branges, and Chateaurenaud Sornay in 1973. This merger was called Louhans, but comes off Sornay Branges and a few years later. Then in 2012, the simple fusion of Louhans and Chateaurenaud was passed which meant removing Chateaurenaud as common and the town was called Louhans-Chateaurenaud.

Louhans is a city flowered, perfect for a little relaxation and hiking. But especially remarkable for history buffs. It has many monuments that have been classified as historical monuments including the hotel trade, hotel Louhans God, the municipal theater and Louhans towers of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Apart from these monuments, the apothecary, the Church of St. Peter and the Printing Museum is the most visited places. Do not miss it as its market and fair, very famous in the region, which are held every Monday morning.
