History of the town of Arras
Arras Is a French commune located in the department of Pas-de-Calais and Nord-Pas-de-Calais. At the time of the Gauls, the town of Arras was called the Celtic Nemetocena Nemeton. This name means sacred place or shrine. This is the twelfth century the name “Arras” appears. In the Middle Ages, the city experienced a considerable development.
