It begins at 18 rue Joseph de Maistre, crossing the rue Lamarck, Marcadet street and street Ordener, and ends at 90 rue Belliard. Its size is 1130 m long and 14m wide. Historically, thisstreet was inaugurated in 1867. It takes its name from Charles-Marie Denys Damrémont who was a French general. He was appointed Governor-General of the French possessions in North Africa February 12, 1837 by the king. Six months after his appointment, he embarked on the second expedition of Constantine with the Duke of Nemours. October 12, 1837, he was killed at the siege of Constantine. The Damrémont street witnessed a milestone on April 24, 1925. A terrible incident broke out in the street during the right-wing movement led by the last patriotes.Ces Youth clashed with communist partisans and begat the death of four young patriots. At No. 17 street erected a large building which was built by the architects. Henri Sauvage and Charles Sarazin in the twentieth century. Exceptional style, the two architects mingled metal, traditional masonry and reinforced concrete in this book. At No. 53, there was a building where the famous writer André Malraux was born in 1901. Both politician, intellectual, and French man of action, he spent two years in this street. As for elementary school Damrémont, it took root at No. 65 and 67.
